The Oregon State fairgrounds in Salem opens for swap meet vendors to set up around the perimeter as soon as OVM personnel are present to organize the event, usually about 7:00 am. Vendors are charged $20.00 for a space, free for OVM members.
Registration and move-in of motorcycles for the show in the main area starts about 8:00 am. Please bring a drip pan to manage leaks. Members may register and display vintage motorcycles – meaning motorcycles manufactured in 2004 or earlier. Placement is grouped by category: Featured Marque (Harley Davidson), American, Asian, British, European, Café, and Racing.
The show opens to the public at 10:00 am. Parking is $5.00 per vehicle (no charge for exhibitors). Event admission is $5.00 per person, 12 and under free. Judging is by People’s Choice for three trophies in each category with an additional President’s Choice trophy. People’s Choice ballots are available at the registration table and are due by 2:00 pm. Awards are announced as soon as ballots are counted.
Membership table and tables for the sale of OVM merchandise (hats, shirts, stickers, patches & pins) will be set up near the main area. Members may renew and new members can join during the show. Membership is $20.00 per year. Anyone who paid the event admission fee can join OVM for another $15.00.
Camping is available on the grass around the area we’ll rent for the show. The area with hookups for RVs may be very wet, but given that we won’t have many they will accommodate as much as they can. We will be in the grass area next to the 4H Barn and we will have the 4H Barn itself (very large covered area).
Saturday Ride will meet at the fairgrounds, more details to be added soon.
Is there camping?
We are planning to have camping available. Electrical hookups in a parking lot like setting. There are images in the gallery you can look at on this Website.
